The Shopkins Bedroom Reveal

Monday, December 12, 2016

This is our last post in the Shopkins themed bedroom series!  To start at the beginning, click here.

We have spent the last two weeks sharing our progress for our daughter's themed bedroom.  Now that it is finished we wanted you to see how the whole thing came together!

I was a little nervous about all of those colors coming together, and it is very bright but it also turned out so great!  Best of all, she loves it!

Easy Last Minute DIY Advent Calendar

Monday, December 5, 2016

Let's say it's the middle of November and you are cruising through the grocery store.  You see the display of 10bazillion $1 advent calendars and decide that you would rather not have to stash them for a few weeks.  You keep cruising and forget all about them.

Fast forward to November 30th, same store, except this time you intend to buy because the kids have started asking about them.  But there are none.  None!

Three stores and three days later you realize you were a schmuck for not buying them weeks ago when you had the chance.  Because apparently they have ceased to exist now that it is time to actually use them.

I know there are a ton of super cute DIY advent calendars out there, but I needed one fast seeing as how it was already December 4th.

Enter a hodge-podge of supplies on hand and under an hour of effort!  The best kind of rescue plan - free and quick!

Card stock
Circle cutter or punches
Double sided tape
Marker or pen
2 Cupcake pans
Leftover Halloween candy (or your choice of treats)

1. Use a Circle Punch

Cut or punch 24 circles big enough to cover the openings of the cupcake pan (mine are 4 1/4").  I also punched smaller, 2" circles for the numbers and attached them using double sided tape.

2.  Number your circles

Use a marker or pen to number the circles from 1-24 (or less if you are running late like me!)

3.  Treats!

Fill your cupcake pan with small treats of choice.

4.  Attach the circles over the treats

Using double sided tape, attach circles to pan so that the holes are covered.  Make sure they are secured enough to keep the treats inside if the pan is sat upright, but loose enough for little fingers to easily remove - two pieces of tape placed on opposite sides of each circle was enough for me.

5.  Countdown to Christmas!

Enjoy counting down the days to Christmas with your munchkins!
